Growing Together at Clarus: How We’re Investing in Ourselves to Show Up Better for You

May 28, 2025

You know that feeling when everything just clicks? When your team is firing on all cylinders and the work you’re delivering feels genuinely meaningful? That’s our goal at Clarus, and we’re constantly looking for ways to invest in our team to make sure it happens. We do this because we know that when our team is healthy and thriving, our clients feel it in every interaction. It’s a ripple effect that starts with how we show up for each other and extends to the outcomes we create together for our clients.

That’s why this year we’re investing in three key areas: (1) deepening our Enneagram knowledge and applying this awareness to strengthen our team dynamics, (2) living into our value of giving back to our community by coming together as a team to support an organization whose mission we value, and (3) gaining fresh insights from a strategic partner to enhance our long-term sustainability through a new business development approach. This blog post captures how these three investments will make us a stronger team and a better partner for or our clients.

1. Enhancing Self-Awareness and Team Effectiveness

We’re deepening our knowledge of the Enneagram and applying this understanding to promote greater self-awareness and stronger team dynamics through quarterly lunch-and-learn sessions. Our focus areas this year include mastering conflict by understanding each other’s triggers, improving our executive presence, and using the Enneagram to strengthen communication and collaboration.

We’ve also taken Patrick Lencioni’s Five Dysfunctions of a Team assessment this year, which is an assessment we also use with our clients. While the Enneagram helps us understand our individual motivations and how we interact with one another, the Five Dysfunctions model shows us where we’re doing well as a team and where we have room to grow.  Together, these tools give us both the interpersonal and organizational insights we needed to function at our best.

Overall, our lunch-and-learn sessions will increase knowledge, self-awareness and improve team cohesion, helping us show up even better for our clients.

2. Living Our Values: Making a Difference Beyond Our Walls

Our team has always cared about more than just doing great work—we care about making a positive impact in our community. That’s why we’re coming together as a team to support an organization whose mission focuses on empowering women, standing up for social justice, and helping families and communities—a mission we believe in.

Through the shared experience of community service, we not only help our neighbors but also strengthen our bonds as a team, connecting us to our deeper purpose—which ultimately makes us better partners for our clients.

3. Expanding our Perspective: Fresh Eyes on Strategic Growth

We’re excited about a new strategic partnership we formed this year with another consulting firm. We worked with their team on strategies for using the Enneagram in the workplace, and in exchange, they’re offering insights into strategies for developing a more robust business development approach that will position us for long-term growth.

By expanding our perspective through this partnership, we look forward to conversations that will challenge our assumptions and help us see innovative paths forward. Building a stronger, more sustainable company means we’ll be here to serve our clients for years to come.

The Ripple Effect: From Team Growth to Better Partnerships

These initiatives might seem like they’re all about us, but really, they’re about ensuring we can continue to be the partner our clients deserve. When we’re a healthy well-aligned team, connected to our purpose and thinking innovatively, that energy shows up in everything we do.

Here’s to growing together and delivering even better outcome to the client we serve!
