Clarus Consulting Group Announces Expansion

Ownership change supports new market development

BIRMINGHAM, AL —  Clarus Consulting Group today announced    expansion plans and a change in ownership of the Birmingham-based management consulting firm. Founding Partner Lynn Elgin will be joined by Partner Bonika Wilson to lead the firm.  Along with new leadership, the firm is pursuing a growth strategy with an expansion into Georgia and the Carolinas. “We are delighted to announce that Clarus will be opening our newest office in North Carolina in June 2017,” said Wilson. Clarus is a management consulting firm serving corporate, public, and non-profit clients in the areas of strategy and planning, leadership development and management training, and strategic communication and stakeholder engagement.

Under the leadership of Founding Principals Lynn Elgin, Kay Kornmeier, and Cathy Wright, the firm has grown to serve clients in 22 states from offices in Birmingham, Atlanta, and Chattanooga. For more than a decade, Clarus’ unique approach has resulted in organizations with stronger leaders, more engaged stakeholders, and improvements to the bottom line.

“The Clarus approach for each client is tailored and data driven, which enables the firm to meet the unique needs, goals, and expectations of every client by applying the diverse knowledge and expertise of its team,” said Elgin. “A hallmark of Clarus is the experienced and creative team behind the work, and we are excited that these individuals will remain with the firm going forward,” she added.  Along with Partners Elgin and Wilson, the senior leadership team includes Kristie McCullough and Alice Walther, each of whom will assume the role of principal consultant, and LaShundra Pinkard, who will serve as chief administrative officer.

Founding Partners Cathy Wright and Kay Kornmeier will serve as Clarus executive collaborators. “Clarus recognizes that a transition in leadership can be a defining moment in the life of an organization,” stated Wright. A successful transition requires careful planning and strategic communication, two areas of service in which the firm excels. “The business was founded with a keen focus on providing exceptional client service and achieving results,” added Kornmeier. “We are excited to be passing the baton to Lynn and Bonika, knowing this important focus will remain the same moving forward.”

Wilson has been partnering with Clarus since 2011. Previously, she was president of Wilson Capital Management Incorporated. She brings a wealth of expertise in strategic management, leadership development, diversity initiatives, team building and improving workforce performance. Wilson also provides clients assistance through complex change initiatives, including defining corporate culture, reorganization and succession planning. “After working with the talented team at Clarus, I knew I wanted to be a part of this dynamic organization,” said Wilson. “I’m excited about our future and I’m confident that our tailored client approach will enable our clients to thrive in this ever-changing business landscape. Our work is more critical than ever before as middle-market businesses are fueling our economy and inclusivity is a daily conversation.”
